FAQ

How to turn off blocks I don’t need in Getwid?

In Getwid version 1.5.3 or higher, you can disable WordPress blocks you don’t need via Settings > Writing > scroll down to Disable Getwid Blocks > select the needed blocks and click Save.

Does the plugin work with any WordPress theme?

Your theme is rather a container and styling mechanism for blocks. We made sure Getwid blocks maximum inherit default styles from your theme – unless you add your own styles! Getwid is also tested with the Twenty Twenty theme – they are a great couple.

What happens to my Getwid content if I deactivate the plugin?

Your content will be displayed in a simplified format; it’ll get back to the initial look after you reactivate Getwid.

Are Getwid blocks translation-ready?

Yes. The plugin works with major translation plugins.

Can I use my own icons?

Yes. By default Getwid uses Font Awesome icons but you can add your own ones.

Can I use custom fonts?

Yes. By default Getwid uses Google Fonts but you can disable them or add custom.

Can I change the “Recent Posts” block layout?

Yes. Copy this file: \getwid\includes\templates\recent-posts\post.php to {your_theme}\getwid\recent-posts\.

Can I use it with other block plugins?

Definitely! You can use Getwid together with the core and third-party block plugins.

We're using Getwid for numerous client projects, and it is a very handy addition to Gutenberg. But what makes this plugin special is the outstanding support you get once there is a question. Most requests or questions in the forum are dealt with within hours and usually the answers are really helpful. Props to the team behind the plugin - it's not often you get such a service for a free plugin! Thank you!

All in one gutenberg blocks, easy to use , flexible designing

Hi, this is a really good plugin in that it offers tons of features with good UI choices. However, there are performance issues. Fontawesome CSS and other JS scripts are loaded on every page regardless of whether Getwid blocks are being used on those pages. This is a problem that other blocks suites do not suffer from and it's such a shame as there's so much promise with Getwid Blocks otherwise. For example: if I use one Getwid block on one page and standard Gutenberg blocks throughout the rest of the site, I still incur the performance hit of having Getwid CSS & JS files loaded on every page, globally throughout the site. It makes for poor performance optimisation. CSS and JS should only be loading on pages the blocks are used. Also, please, please consider using SVGs instead of Fontawesome as others do. Like I have said there's lots of promise here, but for me it's unfortunately let down by those frontend performance issues which most people who use Gutenberg nowadays are trying to get away from.
