Copy or convert terms between taxonomies.
Taxonomies include categories, tags and any other custom taxonomies that may be present with your active theme and plugins.
This plugin, based on Categories to Tags Converter, allows you to copy (duplicate) or convert (move) terms from one taxonomy to another or to multiple taxonomies, while maintaining associated posts.

Pag-install
- Upload the
taxonomy-converterfolder to the/wp-content/plugins/directory, or search for Taxonomy Converter on thePlugins > Add Newadmin page and Install Now. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- Go to the Tools -> Import screen, Click on Taxonomy Converter

Love this plugin, especially when importing blogs from other platforms to WordPress since categories are all imported as tags. Saves me so many hours. Thank you! Also, still works perfectly with 5.5.3 for me.

It worked perfectly. I couldn’t find another to do this. WordPress has one, but it only converts default categories and tags, not taxonomies for other post types. In my case, I needed it for WooCommerce.
After I used it, I read the support and saw it doesn’t work on php 7. Mine was set to 7.2.27 and I had no issues.
I realized later that I had looked into another plugin called Term Management Tools. That might work if this one doesn’t.

For starters, the plugin has deprecated code and produces errors on PHP7. Looks like the code hasn’t really been touched all that much in many, many years.
The biggest problem is that when the terms are converted, the term descriptions are removed.

I used this to convert about 8 categories to tags. It errored and when I checked the categories had been deleted but the tags hadn’t been created.
